"Beginning well is a momentary thing; finishing well is a lifelong thing." -- Ravi Zacharias
Who I Am...
I am a very passionate person, which means I throw my whole self into whatever I do. My first passion is God. It is in Him that I live and breathe. My second passion is my family. I love my family! I married my best friend in 2000 and since then God has given us three amazing gifts that keep us constantly entertained. My third passion includes both learning and teaching, since without the first, the second becomes ineffective. These three passions deepen my love for life and for education and keep me always pressing forward.
Where I'm From...
I'm from cold water creeks, from mountain views and old farmhouses. I'm from eating apples off the tree and green onions straight from the garden. I'm from the smell of Listorene, clove gum and vine-ripened tomatoes, from slaw dogs and curious cats and candy hidden in Grandpa's leather jacket just behind his dress shirts in the closet.
I'm from summersaults and fall festivals, blue gills, blue jeans and Blue Suede Shoes. I'm from The One True God and love your enemy, from mother's love, Daddy's girl, big brother and little sisters. I'm from preacher's kid stereotypes with an iron will to prove them wrong.
I'm from sled-rides in the cemetery and family canoe trips, from make-believe and hand-me-downs, flag football, capture the flag and "I pledge allegiance to the flag." I'm from beach vacations with early morning cannonballs into the pool and evening strolls on a sunset beach where you wish you could stay forever and let the saltwater tickle your feet.
